Anish Kapoor Sculpture Unveiled

JANE FARVER: This is a new sculpture by Anish Kapoor, which is one of the most recent additions to the public art program here at MIT. We're really excited to have it.

[MUSIC PLAYS]

SPEAKER 1: It's just going to explode onto the scene. It's really going to be exciting to see it when it's unwrapped.

[MUSIC PLAYS]

JANE FARVER: We're going to take the paper off. And then they've got to spend a couple days polishing it. We're having some scaffolding installed right now, but other than that we're good.

SPEAKER 2: That's-- it's so exciting.

JANE FARVER: [INAUDIBLE]

SPEAKER 3: And the sculpture is, essentially, a 3/4 inch thick piece of stainless steel plate, seven foot two inches, roughly, wide, and about 15 and 1/2, or so, feet tall. It's one piece. And it's been ground and polished on both sides and the edges.
